Well, I can't believe it has been almost 6 weeks since my last post. We have been battling many sicknesses this winter (fevers, flu, strep, you name it). So I haven't had many fun things to talk about. Luckily, Eva had a birthday to break up the dry spell. It was touch-and-go for a while as Jordan came down with a fever the Tuesday before Eva's big day. I had heard there was a nasty bug going around that was very contagious and the fever could last up to 7 days. I thought we were doomed. I figured the likelihood that Eva would escape infection was slim, but somehow she did. Jordan even managed to make a recovery the day before. Thank goodness! It would have broken our hearts to have to have cancelled her 6th birthday.
Her big day went well. We had her party at Puget Sound Gymnastics and Dance. I was a little concerned as this is the first birthday party I have thrown without the help of grandparents. Luckily friends pitched in and things ran pretty smoothly.
Today (her actual birthday) was spent taking a trip to the bike shop with Daddy and picking out her new "big girl" bike (our birthday gift to her), and baking homemade cupcakes just the way she likes them. It has been a good birthday for Eva, once again!
