A Beautiful Day for a Hike

Usually, by this time of the year, the weather is pretty dreary around here.  This year our Fall has been amazing.  Non-stop sun since mid-July  At least it seems that way.  I have been waiting a long time for the girls to be old enough for hiking.  Jordan isn't much for walking.  I only recently stopped carrying her on a regular basis.  Not because she wanted me to stop, but she was just getting too darn heavy.  I was thinking it would likely be next Summer before we could give it a shot, but last Sunday was such a beautiful day and we had no plans so we decided to go for it.

We headed up to Twin Falls trail, which is only 15 minutes from our house.  It was about a 1.2 mile walk to the falls (and back again) which didn't sound too long, but turned out to much harder of a hike than I expected.  The girls did GREAT!  They were so excited to see the falls that they wouldn't let me change my mind about competing the entire hike. They didn't complain once and Jordan did most of the hike on her own legs (just a little help from Daddy on the way back).   We were VERY proud of them, and they of themselves. :)  Looks like there will be more hikes in our near future.  Well, at least when the sun returns next May.
