May Happenings

Doing a monthly review could become a nasty habit if I am not careful.  I will try harder next time!  But at least I am not letting events go by completely.

May started off with beautiful weather and a wonderful Mother's Day.  Eva's class did a Mother's Day Tea and I (along with all the other mothers) was invited to come to school one morning to enjoy some special time with my daughter and her classmates.  We ate snacks and even watched the kids perform a few songs.  Eva was very excited to have me as her special guest.

The next big event was Eva losing her front tooth.  This is tooth number three to fall out, but the first two were on the bottom and not really noticeable.  This one is MUCH more noticeable.  I had to give it a pretty good tug to get it out.  She was not happy with me for doing that, but got over that quickly once it was out and knew the tooth fairy was on her way.

We took a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo.  We don't get out there too often as it is a long drive, but I thought we had better take advantage of a sunny Friday before school lets out and the crowds arrive.  Definitely worth the effort.

Eva and Jordan both took gymnastics classes for about 4 months.  They both started at Puget Sound Gymnastics and Dance, but Eva moved over to the program at her grade school for the last 2 months.. Jordan LOVED gymnastics, especially wearing her leotard.  I wish I could download some video (still can't figure that out).  Photos will have to do.

Finally, we ended the month with a much needed trip to Yakima.  I think it may have been 6 months since our last trip.  Not good!  The girls were really missing their cousins and luckily we got a chance to see all of them (the eastside ones anyway).  I noticed Jordan crying in the car on the way home and when I asked her what was wrong, she said, "I miss my cousins."  Looks like we better not go so long between visits in the future!
